FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Valley Repertory Theatre, in Newberg, Oregon, announces their One-Act writing competition for the stage. This competition will be open to all Oregon residents, and is a chance for talented local playwrights to have their works acknowledged and produced on stage.
To be eligible, the Playwright must be a resident of Oregon as of 11/1/2016. Plays should be submitted via email to Emily@valleyrep.org
Submission should include 2 attachments- the One-act itself should be one attachment, and not be labeled with anything other than the title, setting, and characters.
The second attachment should include the following:
Title of One-act
Oregon address as of 11/1/2016
Brief synopsis of the One-act play.
The plays will be numbered and reviewed by our judging team anonymously.
DUE DATE: December 31st, 2016
NO ENTRIES will be accepted after the due date.
Winners will be notified by January 31st, 2017.
What we are looking for:
Unique One-acts that showcase the amazing talent that we have in this state.
What we are NOT looking for:
One-acts with more than 4 actors; extremely adult content; or complex technical needs such as crazy special effects, complex sets, or outrageous costumes.
Shows will be cast and Directed by Valley Rep artists, and by submitting your One-act to the committee, you give VRT full rights to produce your show in the way we see fit.
The intellectual property remains your own as the playwright, however from the time of submission, through closing night of performances, we retain all production and performance rights. We will not edit your script without your permission.
All produced One-acts will be recorded for our archives.
Each winning playwright will receive 4 comp tickets to the show to use for themselves or others, 50 dollars prize money, and a copy of the recorded shows.
